AT LAST MONTH'S GRAND FINALE OF THE CIRCUITO NATIONAL IN PLAYA HERMOSA, THE COSTA RICA FEDERATION OF SURF, the tournament organizer, and Quiksilver, the sponsor of the event agreed to help benefit the Punta Mala National Wildlife Refuge by raising awareness and funds to help improve the Refuge.  Daystar Properties enabled the land adjacent to the site of the competition and made it possible to raise funds by way of parking!  With valuable collaboration of the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Volunteers for Service in Protected Areas and Morgans Cove Hotel, funds were raised!  Chamber members Jill and Sean Seagren from Hermosa Palms organized the endeavor and secured donations of food and water for the volunteers of the event.  Special Thanks goes to Toca Gonzalez, Fritz Howser, and Michael Jaye Juchnowicz for their generous donation of 400 bottles of water, to Dino Ignacio for the generous donation of lunch for the 30 volunteers for three days and to Jimmy T's catering for the delicious food he prepared.  If you would like to help the Playa Hermosa Refugio, donations can be made at the local Chamber office in front of CableTica or call 2643-2853.
