Garabito Municipal Police Programs

THE GARABITO MUNICIPAL POLICE HAVE BEEN CONDUCTING A SERIES OF PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE CANTON. On Thursday March 3rd, they held a meeting with different units of the Canines Units from Municipal Police around the country (Santa Cruz, Belen, Escazú, Santa Ana and Coronado) and the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce, where they joined an Inter-Institutional Canine Unit Commission. They are also working on: • Project of Urban Monitoring • Policletos (policemen in bikes) • Additionally, three of their officers are receiving a course called Trainer of Trainers in order to become an instructor in future community safety programs • Additionally, three  of their  officers are also in a First Aid Training Program • Community Self Defense Programs have been established and Karate is being taught every Tuesday and Thursday in conjunction with the Sports Committee of the Municipality • In March, there will be an Induction in the Defensive Weapon Tonfa or better known as PR-24 by Captain Zuniga.
