Lt. Franklin Cardenas Quesada joined Fuerza Publica of Garabito last June 16th, 2010. During this period he has made significant changes in the leadership. Trainings have been conducted about preventive and citizenship security, as well as environmental protection. Improvements have been made in the delegation such as the construction of lockers with the donation of wood by some farmers in the area and bedrooms are being improved. Motivation is given to officers and improved nutrition for officials. A group of motorized police have been integrated with 5 repaired motorcycles thanks to the sponsorship of Daystar Properties, Herradura Gas Station, Car Decoration Herradura and other donors who have provided parts for these vehicles. In the future they are working on two major projects which include the establishment of two new Fuerza Publica offices in the canton: one in Herradura and another in Punta Leona. In addition, the Public Force is seeking sponsorship to cover maintenance costs for motorcycles, helmets and boots for the rain. Another two projects are the construction of a new and improved office in Jaco, with better conditions and facilities, 1 new bedroom due to the expansion of human resources and the purchase of 2 ATVs for the surveillance of the beach.
