Jill Ruttenberg From AmaTierra To Present At The Next Central Pacific Women's Group Meeting November 16th 2011

THE NEXT CENTRAL PACIFIC WOMEN’S GROUP MEETING WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16TH FROM 9-11AM AT COCAL HOTEL. November program: Join Jill Ruttenberg who is a nutritionist and clinical herbalist specializing in Chinese and Western herbal medicines. The November seminar will discuss medicinal plants one can grow or find in Costa Rica and how to use them to benefit your health. She has organic and hydroponic gardens, growing a variety of produce, culinary and medicinal herbs. If plants are available, Jill will bring some for sale. Proceeds go to the AmaTierra Foundation. Could be time for fresh tumeric root for your curry!

Central Pacific Women's Group to Host The Costa Rica Coffee Experience Wednesday July 20, 2011 at Morgan's Cove Resort 9AM-11AM

The CPWG will be hosting The Costa Rica Coffee Experience which is a new local business that carries many unique food items, gifts and souvenirs from Costa Rica.  Stewart Winter will be presenting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, July 20th at 9AM-11AM at Morgan's Cove Resort.  Stewart started the business with the idea of finding authentic souvenirs to take home to family and friends.  Having an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of adventure are necessities in the tourism business; owner Stewart Winter will share some of his adventures and will introduce some interesting local products.  For more information, contact the Chamber at 2643-2853.

Central Pacific Women's Group Hosts Jose Alberto Villalobos Morales, an expert on astronony May 18th at Morgan's Cove

 The Central Pacific Women's Group will be hosting Jose Alberto Villalobos Morales - a retired physicist who taught at the University of Costa Rica. Jose is passionate about astronomy and loves sharing his vast knowledge. He will be explaining about calendars and how persons make and use them, especially the Mayan calendar. There will also be a brief introduction about the solar system,astronomical events and the Milky Way. The main focus will be a discussion on the Astronomical Phenomenon of 2012 and the Mayan Perspective. This will surely be an enlightening presentation.  The meeting date is May 18th at Morgan's Cove from 9:00am-11:00am.  For more information, contact centralpacificwomensgroup@yahoo.com.

Next Central Pacific Women's Group Meeting To Be Held in Morgan's Cove March 16th at 9AM

The Central Pacific Women's Group has been very busy!  Their 2nd bake sale to benefit the CenCinai preschool was extremely successful with the goal to repaint the walls of the school.  They are aiming to paint on Saturday, March 19th starting at 8:00 in the morning.  Volunteers are strongly encouraged! 

A huge thank-you goes to Balcon del Mar for hosting their meetings for over 3 years.  Now, however, Balcon Del Mar needs that space. So - MORGAN'S COVE HOTEL, just past the Muni, south on Pastor Diaz, - just past the CenCinai preschool, is providing the group with meeting space for  MARCH 16TH - FROM 9-11AM - AT MORGAN'S COVEfor guest speaker HENRY KARCZYNSKI OF VILLA VANILLA!

The Next Central Pacific Women's Group meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 from 9AM to 11AM in Balcon Del Mar Hotel.  This month’s featured speaker will be Silvia Roldan Estrada. Silvia is a lawyer and inspector of Caja. The topic will be the General information and requirements of Caja. The Caja insurance is offered to everyone in the country not just residents. This will be an informative program to answer some of the doubts and/or unknowns of the Caja.

January meeting on  Balcon del Mar at 9-11am will be  presented by Marsha and Mark Friedman. They are psychotherapists, who partner with their 14 wonderful horses, to provide Equine facilitated learning and therapy.

This month’s presenter will be Randall Ortega Chaves from Costa Rica Birding Journeys. He is naturalist and environmentalist.  Biodiversity for Prosperity: proving Jacó has all the tools necessary to become a mecca for sustainable ecotourism. Sounds interesting..... Randall also has marvelous slides he will share. He’s a terrific speaker. IMPORTANT: Beginning in October, the Central Pacific Women's Group meetings are going to be held every third Wednesday of the month from 9am – 11pm at Balcón del Mar Hotel.  Remember ¡Bring a Book, Take a Book!
