Play Poker For A Cause Was Held Saturday June 11th at 7PM at Bohio in Jaco with an Inscription Cost of $100. Congratulations to David Karr from Coldwell Banker Vesta Group who was the winner of the game.  Proceeds will go to buy uniforms for the teams competing in the national games in San Jose.  If you would like to help promote sports in Jaco, please contact the Chamber.

CENTRAL PACIFIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFERS A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO ONE OF OUR MEMBERS Proyecto C.I.N.C.O for their program “CARING for a HEART” project in which it was possible the delivery of uniforms and school supplies to under privileged students in the primary schools in the Garabito area. Thanks to initiatives like this one; many children who would not be attending school are doing so.  If you would like to help with Education Programs in the Garabito zone, please contact the Chamber at 2643-2853

LIBRARY OF JACO NEEDS volunteers for: label books/make labels, enter the books into their system, translate English info into Spanish, sewing projects (bean  bag chairs, hand puppets, book holders to hang on the wall with clear plastic pockets), organizing committees ( fundraiser, activities, workshops, English, photography, health…), help man the library while they are on their trip.

VILLA CALETAS HOTEL IS NOW WORKING ON A PROJECT CALLED ‘FRIENDS OF THE FOREST’. The project invites guests to take part by purchasing a tree and planting it at Villa Caletas. The cost is $ 20 including transportation to the nursery, where the guest will choose a tree; then transport it to the planting area where the person can grow it personally or have the person in charge of the nursery plant it for the guest. The hotel puts a commemorative plaque with the date, guest name and name of the tree and will take pictures at the time of planting. The funds are used to grow more trees in the nursery, and for other environmental programs and activities at Hotel Villa Caletas!

THE CRUSA FOUNDATION (CRUSA) IS A PRIVATE, INDEPENDENT INSTITUTION FOUNDED IN 1996 BY FIVE AMERICANS AND FIVE COSTA RICANS who decided to unite their efforts to achieve a common objective: improving the quality of life of Costa Ricans.  Together with Amigos of Costa Rica and strategic partners, CRUSA works to focus on environmental and educational goals.  Next week, on Monday, December 7th at 10AM, Michelle Coffey from Amigos of Costa Rica will be coming to meet with representatives of the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce and The Colegio Technical Professional of Jaco.  The meeting is open to business members in the community!  We hope you will join us!
