WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY IS A DAY DESIGNATED BY THE UNITED NATIONS to stimulate awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and public action to help protect the environment.  The local Municipality is planning a Tree Planting activity for Friday June 3rd to commemorate this day. The activity will begin in front of Maxi Bodega at 8am.  If you want to participate, contact the Chamber at 2643-2853.

THE GARABITO MUNICIPAL POLICE HAVE BEEN CONDUCTING A SERIES OF PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE CANTON. On Thursday March 3rd, they held a meeting with different units of the Canines Units from Municipal Police around the country (Santa Cruz, Belen, Escazú, Santa Ana and Coronado) and the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce, where they joined an Inter-Institutional Canine Unit Commission.

IN COSTA RICA, PAST DECEMBER 5^TH, WAS HELD THE POPULAR VOTING to elect the Mayor of Garabito over the next six years. Those elections were won by Mr. Marvin Elizondo Cordero, accompanied by Ms. Karla Gutiérrez Mora as First Deputy Mayor and Mr. Tobias Murillo Rodriguez as Second Deputy Mayor. Congratulations to Mr. Elizondo for his re-election and his deputy mayors. The Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce looks forward to working together with the Municipality on “POR UN MEJOR JACO” and “TIERRA DE AVENTURA y CIUDAD DE SURF” campaigns.

REMEMBER!   Municipality of Garabito continues with the recycling campaign every first Thurdays and Fridays of the month in conjunction with Channel 7 and “Ambientados” Group in the Park of Jaco. The hours are from 6am to 8pm.  For more information please contact Lic. They celebrated with different activities through the past weekend. On Friday was the bands parade that began on Central Park Jaco and ended in Multiuso Salon by the stadium of Garabito, where they held craft fair and other activities during the day. On Sunday was held the soccer game dedicated to the City Council where Jaco Rays Soccer Team and the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce handed thanks certificates to the Mayor and local City Council. Jaco Rays vrs Zona Norte game was a totally success, Jaco Rays won 4-2 and is still in the top.  Thanks to everyone who made possible the 30 anniversary of Garabito.

Festivities and activities will be held Friday September 24th thru Monday September 27th in celebration of the Canton of Garabito! There will be activities in the Park of Jaco on Sunday September 26th and the Jaco Rays home soccer game will be dedicated to the City Council.

1.     FILL OUT DECLARATIONS OF IMMOVABLE PROPERTY.

2.     RENOVAR LOS CERTIFICADOS DE PATENTES COMERCIALES.

3.     CANCEL YOUR TAXES AND AVOID LEGAL CHARGES.

4.     SUBMIT DECLARATIONS AND SWORN PATENTS BEFORE NOVEMBER 30th.

In the next two months, municipal officials and staff will be conducting inspections and field visits to businesses to check patentes and to properties to check tax payments.
