Lifeguards

Every year the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club holds a course where they invite lifeguards from overseas to go and participate in lifesaving activities and earn their Australian Bronze Medallion with them.   These year the course is being held from 22 to 29 May and they invite Marvin Perez not only to obtain his Bronze Medallion but also gain some valuable lifesaving skills and knowledge. To make this trip possible Marvin is looking for sponsors who help to pay the costs that it concern. The Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Municipality of Garabito made possible the integration of four lifeguards in Jaco Beach during Semana Santa.  Marvin Perez, Rigoberto Villalobos Vásquez, César Herrera Samudio and Lizandro Porras Garita were the 4 lifeguards who cared for the swimmers who visited the beaches of Jaco during those days.  Further South in the district of Parrita, The Beaches of Esterillos Association of Community Helpers (B.E.A.C.H.) has been established.  This is a grassroots Not for Profit organization in Esterillos, Costa Rica with a purpose of providing funding for the Lifeguard Program in the community and its surrounding beaches.
