LIBRARY JACO WILL BE HOLDING A CHESS FRIENDLY TOURNAMENT on November 19th, 2011 at 1:30pm. Registration cost 1,000 colones ($2). Small cash prizes!!! This tournament will be for kids, teens and adults who know how to play. Bring your chess set if you have one! The new Library of Jaco is looking for volunteers and donations.
LIBRARY OF JACO NEEDS volunteers for: label books/make labels, enter the books into their system, translate English info into Spanish, sewing projects (bean bag chairs, hand puppets, book holders to hang on the wall with clear plastic pockets), organizing committees ( fundraiser, activities, workshops, English, photography, health…), help man the library while they are on their trip.

This contest is for public school students in Garabito. So, if you know one: encourage he or she to participate in this year's Essay Contest. Only one entry per participant and Entries must be submitted with full name, phone number and name of school or college by December 10, 2010. The Title is Improve Garabito for Future Generations and the topics for submission are: • How to improve the conservation of natural resources (animals, land, sea) • How to improve our community (ideas for recycling, development of tourist attractions, projects of community service...) or a Free Topic.
