2011 Signature Billfish Series Leg II Underway March 2nd-5th in the Central Pacific at Los Suenos Marina

 

The 2011 Los Suenos Billfish Series Leg II is presented by Smith Merritt Insurance, International Special Risks and Traveler's Insurance.  The 8th Annual Second Leg of the two-tournament series is underway out at Los Suenos!  Incredible fishing has been going on--update as of March 2nd is that 35 Boats caught and released 376 billfish (371 sailfish, 5 marlin.  THE GAME ON is in the lead with an incredible 28 sailfish!  Visit www.lsrm.com for all results.  Congratulations to Ashley Bretecher, Tournament Director for running this fabulous event.  You can reach her by email at a.bretecher@lsrm.com.

 

2011 Signature Billfish 1st Leg Results in the Central Pacific at Los Suenos Marina. The next Tournament is scheduled for March 2nd-5th 2011

The first leg of the Los Suenos 2011 Signature Billfish Series was held Jan 25th-Jan 29th and was a huge success with 41 participating teams and 161 individual anglers.   1st Place went to Sea Angel Captained by Billy Chase from Home Port Baytown, Texas.  2nd Place went to Dragin Fly Captained By James Smith out of Homeport Los Suenos, Costa Rica.  3rd Place went to Pescadora Captained by Robert Burnside out of Homeport Los Suenos Costa Rica and included the Top Angler Award to Michael Rankey!

FISHING TOURNAMENT TO BE RUN OUT OF JACO TACO JAN 15th & JAN 16th

THE CREATION OF THE COSTA RICA NATIONAL FISHING CLUB FOUNDED ON 1961, AND FOR 50 YEARS THEY HAVE BEEN ENTRUSTED WITH PREPARING EVERY YEAR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHORE FISHING IN COSTA RICA. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, beginning in January and ending in November, 11 competitions are scheduled including the special competition called "International Friendship Championship of Bass Fishing". During these 11 events they will visit much of the country bringing their message of healthy competition and preservation to the host communities. In their 50th anniversary first tournament, named COPA COLUMBIA, they expect about 120 participants and it will be held in Jaco at JACO TACO RESTAURANT ON SATURDAY JANUARY 15 AND SUNDAY JANUARY 16.

Los Suenos Invitational A Success!

3RD ANNUAL LOS SUEÑOS MARLIN INVITATIONAL MARLIN BITE OFF THE CHARTS. The 3rd Annual Los Sueños Marlin Invitational took place December 1-4, 2010 and wrapped up on Saturday, December 4th with a delicious meal and awards celebration at El Galeon Restaurant in Los Sueños Resort and Marina. Everyone following the tournament action over the three days of fishing agreed that the marlin bite was off the charts, with 77 of the 111 billfish caught by the 43 anglers fishing on 12 boats being marlin.
